"You are my property. You will obey me. You must submit to me." In the distant future in which this torrid science fiction story is set, that's the accepted way for a man to deal with a handsome male slave who doesn't appreciate what an honor it is to be invited to share his master's bed. When Lieutenant Prion of the Imperial Star Corps undertakes a dangerous mission to explore and colonize a new, savage planet, he faces many challenges. Among them is a period of enforced celibacy, an experience quite alien to the virile young lieutenant. But the position of First Colonist turns out to include a few perks, as well. Prion is eventually given six alien prisoners of war to work under his supervision and serve him as his slaves. And in this violent, macho culture of interplanetary exploration and warfare, it is taken for granted that a slave must serve his master in any way the latter desires, no matter how intimate or degrading. Everything about this strange new world is hot the climate, the active volcanos, and especially the men. Prion is a strict disciplinarian, who expects his slaves to submit to him. But can brutality lead to more tender emotions? Prion has always been the aggressor, in his sexual relationships. Now, though, as the heat and fire of the planet exert their subtle, insidious effect upon him, he finds himself at the mercy of strange new desires. Veeran, the slave whom he has chosen to be his personal attendant and his usual bedmate, dares to resist his master. Reluctantly, Veeran surrenders his body to Prion, but he withholds his love. For the proud, inflexible Prion, this situation is intolerable. He swears to break Veeran, and bend the slave to his will. The two macho males lock horns in erotic combat. Which will prevail?

The description of this book started with "You are my property, You will obey me. You must submit to me." Lieutenant Prion unfortunately was more concerned with his six Phocion prisoners liking him than actually than treating them as his slaves. The sex scenes were numerous but basically the same over and over. There were references throughout the book of some more intense BDSM/discipline coming up but it never materialized. I felt absolutely no emotional connection to Prion or his personal slave (lover?) Veeran what-so-ever. The author led the reader to believe that something physical was going to happen between Prion and the commander of the spaceship Tycho but again that never materialized. The descriptions of the planet that Prion was charged with colonizing were just OK, but a large city was built before Prion even started his mission to see if the planet was habitable, very unrealistic. For a erotic sci-fi book this book was pretty boring and I almost didn't even finish it...Product details

Sphere of Fire edition by Roland Graeme Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Totally sci-fi at it's best.....But extremely heavy with the sex. This author writes good stories, but I wish he would have had less sex with
this interesting plot.
