The characterizations were outstanding, bringing true depth to some very complex people. I cared very much what happened to them. Good pacing kept me reading way past bedtime because I couldn't put it down. For its genre, it is remarkably clean, only mild swearing and steamy kissing--nothing more than a PG rating. I appreciated that because I often have to close a book unfinished when such things get too explicit.
Definitely one of the best books I've read all year!

Talk about a who-done-it!!! I KNEW who did it...until I didn't! Great read....romance wrapped in a murder mystery with a perp who was totally unexpected! I'm looking for more of her books.
This one was very exciting all the way through. C.G. and Wolf are a very well matched couple and I think will do very well together. Thanks
This was a very intriguing story line. The mystery was well designed, with the proper
red herrings to keep the reader guessing. The characters were likeable and believable. The main character was very well fashioned and a bit of a surprise. The hero was every girl's dream of Mr. Right. But, surprise, he acted just like a real human being with flaws like the rest of us. How refreshing! I would give this story a 4.5 stars if I could. I did have to take .5 off for the minor amount of repetition.
The romance happens quickly but watching it bring CG back into the real world drew me into the story. There is strong physical attraction between Wolf and CG but, to my relief, no detailed sex. I was somewhat disappointed that the bad guy seemed so obvious, thus the twist near the end was delightful.
The secondary, but heartwarming, thread in this series is the love and loyalty of a friend who doesn't fade away as years go by; one who continues to have your back while being offered nothing in return. I hope everyone has a Rita in their life.
"Cinnamon Girl Explains It All" by Jodi Bowersox is a fun read. I was amused at the irony that after Cynthia corrects Dennis' editorial with a red pen that she walks off on her "heals". p. 35. The characters are enjoyable--Rita, Wolf, Cynthia, Tiger, Marjorie, Jennifer and her brother. I thought the flashbacks were too many and too drawn out as were the scenes when Cynthia and Wolf get together. I would have appreciated that the story moved along. Bowersox writes in a mature style and depicts the different personalities of the main character very well. I had figured out the identity of the killer. I would enjoy reading more by Ms. Bowersox.
